Hello there!! My name is Lance, I only know little about mechanical keyboards, I have been in this hobby for 6 months now and I have been really amazed at how every switch and keyboard from the other one, I bought my first mechanical keyboard that had blue switches and they sounded really bad so I saved money to buy a barebones tkl kit and paired it with some gateron browns and cheap oem keycaps, and ever since then I tried linears and I like them so much currently I have 3 boards and the one that I'm using right now is a GK64xs with Gateron Cap Yellows which sound amazing but hella scratchy at first but now it sounds amazing.
My favorite thing about mechanical keyboards is its large customizability and the difference of every switch you use. My goal right now is to make my own board and design my own keycaps for me to learn a lot more about mechanical keyboards.
