The spacebar and right shift key won't fit a Filco, I'm pretty sure everything else should.

Do the large keys fit? I think Filco uses a relatively standard stabilizer bar whereas Cherry keys use that thing that looks like two sliders mounted either side of the main switch.

I'm not sure, I don't have a Diatec board to compare to right now. :/

I was being somewhat rhetorical there. Unless this is some kind of non-standard Cherry keyboard, the large keys are mounted differently to the way Costar mounts large keys on their stuff.

That's the same keyboard I used in the Anti-Otaku mod, first rev.  It was only $18 NIB when I did it but I dunno if it would be my first choice in donor boards now.  You still have the Rshift and Capslock problem (although I just dumped Rshift into the Capslock position for an extra "Shifty" keyboard).

True, but doubleshots are getting scarcer, the only models I see with them these days are MX8000s, MX8100s, and MY7000s. And most of those are priced at $50+.

If me being a noob to the boards doesn't exclude my participation, I would really love to get a set of keycaps or a full keyboard, whichever you would prefer to sell.
Keyboards: Realforce 86UB (work), Deck KBA-CBL82 (home, plan to mod to ghetto reds), Compaq MX11800 (will probably be the donor for the ghetto red springs), APC MX11900, Cherry G84-4100, Dell AT101W.

NB: The numpad zero (as a square instead of rectangle) may be a problem with some boards.

I'm in for a set. I'll be sending PM in about 5 minutes.
I trolled Geekhack and all I got was an eponymous SPOS.

A preorder just filled up, who wants it?

I want doubleshots for my MX SPOS, since the lasered keys are so dim on this board, and there are no nubs on F and J.

Hey I see you got your Ricercar SPOS, isn't it like pure butter?  IMHO it's the best cherry brown board ever.   Except for the layout.

I like it. :D

Biggest disappointment is the keycaps, they're very dim and unattractive looking, and the F and J keys have that weird curvature instead of nubs. I hope the double shots can remedy that. Oh, and one of the relegendable keycaps, the cap won't fit on the main key. Annoying. I might have to sand something.

After reading about Filco keys getting shiny, I think I'd like to order a set if they are still available. I'm getting the Filco Majestouch Tactile Touch NKRO  FKBN104M/EB tomorrow =)

I believe all the keys are compatible except the space bar + right shift key if I recall correctly.

It's a bummer Elitekeyboards doesn't sell the extra sets anymore.  Musta got tired of the whining.

Yeah, I know xD ,
a Shiny Double shot Cherry key looks MUCH better than a Shiny Filco key.

MY switches are just as unpleasant to type on as I remember. Uuuhgggghghgdhafdl;kjaslgdkasjfs

The double shots look great though, and feel nice too. Only complaint is lack of nubs on F and J. Oh, and keycap incompatibility between the layouts. Otherwise, great.

What do you mean? F and J having more curvature than the other keys, like the SPOS? No. They're the same as the other keys.

May i know whether those double shots is a full set to fit in the Cherry G80-3494 LYCUS-2 ? Or will some of the keys not fit ?

the first row on the Cherry MY-7000 will fit but they will be too small.

This, also the right shift is smaller. Everything else should be a match though.

You could finish the rest from an old POS 'board from eBay.  If you're patient, you can find them fairly cheaply.

You would figure, being a dentist and all, that SKCheng could have fixed those gaps.  I know where I'm not going for dental work now.

@lmnop

I was afraid of that :[

Oh well laser etched pom it is. I'll bet the switches die before the key caps (probly). I'll worry about it then :x

Cherry MX switches are rated for 50 million strokes (about 20 years) but that doesn't mean they will last that long.

that they break faster than a Chinese motorcycle. it was a rebuttal. I thought your comment about the Deck LED was silly. Cherry MX switches break sometimes, people complain but they don't stop buying them.

The C key on my 3000 is either dirty or the infill is starting to wear; I haven't really had a chance to look it.  The V key is also starting to look the same way.  If you didn't guess, I do a lot of copying and pasting.

Wait until you see what Isopropyl does to Filco keys.

I tested that just now and... Wow, I'm amazed.
Now I have a reason to buy a new set of keycaps.
