In fairness, if you're paying postal insurance that is more expensive than the item you're insuring...

Instead of paying that shipping, I would recommend the Belkin.

My apologies, I didn't realize that you prefer to pay for the more expensive shipping option which offers less value because it requires you to be home to provide a signature.
I thought the difference was domestic and international.

Right, these guys are even worse than cable_star in regard to intl. postage! $10 for a single adapter? You gotta be kidding me :P

Which is the Dark Side of This. US $1 + 10 Cents for Shipping, note that the seller has already sold more than 1K of these Lighter Side and that's just this Listing.
I purchased from the more expensive Listing of £0.99p + Free Shipping. At this price-point, I purchased three, didn't thought it would be any good, but to my surprise it works. :bounce:
Even opened it and de-soldered the mouse cable from the converter chip so it wouldn't dangle from my laptop (more weight on the connectors).

My four blue Cubes have now been assimilated into the cardboard box to join with other keyboards.

What's the chip in that $1 Hong Kong special?
Exactly as Kishy stated, when I have a little time, I'll open up another and scrape off the resin and see if there's any info.
Not sure if it's compatible with all keyboards, I've not had time to try them all (need to un-pile them), but ATM it's working with my ACCESS.

Can you confirm it doesn't have the same issue as the one I have which looks like that?  This is, if you hold the Shift, Alt, or Ctrl keys for more than 3 seconds, the status is "forgotten".   For example, if you want to save a file using the Shift-S shortcut, and you held the Shift key for too long - you are only going to see the letter 's' added instead of having the file saved.

Not sarcasm- the belkin is great.

The el cheapos usually have issue with the model m- so I'd be curious to know the chip in that one too.

Agreed.
Just found out the "El Cheapos" does NOT work with ALL keyboards. Maybe there's some truth to the saying "you get what you pay for".

At least it saved you $4 and took 2 weeks to ship from Hong Kong.  Some might question whether that was an effective use of time versus picking one that is well tested on multiple keyboards, multiple OS's and motherboards.

Maybe I'm looking at it wrong.

Yeah, I've just had way too many that would work fine with some keyboards, and not with others, and then would kernel panic anytime I plugged it into a Mac, so I just had to go with the blue cube and finally just bite the bullet(such a huge bullet too, god it was like 12 whole dollars in the end, lol)

Eleven dollars is close to the retail price of "El Cheapo" adapters over here in Sweden anyway, so I ordered one.

Oh yeah, retail is a b*tch.  The place where I worked, we regularly marked up cables/converters well over 100%.  We were still less than half the price of best buy though...
