Nmb rt101

I just made an impulse buy of an NMB RT101 for $25 shipped. I've seen pictures of their "space invader" switches and I am intrigued. How do they feel?

Erm... this model may also have mechanics over rubber domes (this is what I have). Did you ask for FCC ID or pic under the keycaps?

Imposter detected. Improper use of 'eh' is typical for Americans.

Are you saying Bob and Doug McKenzie are American?

I have an nmb RT6855T+ and it is easily the best dome I have ever typed on.  If the plunger looks anything like this:

Then you're going to love it.

My RT101+'s plungers aren't the same (neither round nor green). It's still not bad for a rubber dome though.

I was actually just talking with MorningSong in the chat about NMB "space invader" switches today.  I've always found them to be a very fun switch, but rather impractical because once disassembled, the odds are that the switch mechanism will get bend beyond repair.

If the one you get does have space invaders, DON'T OPEN THE SWITCHES!  Taking apart and reassembling NMB switches is a dark art of the Orient that takes years to master.  I plan on taking my 3 faulty NMB boards, removing ALL the switches (without taking them apart!!!), and then building back 1 or 2 working NMB boards.

Oh, and whatever you do, DON'T OPEN THE SWITCHES!!!

Well it's a rubber dome. Ah well. It is a very nice rubber dome though, even though it's a decade and change old. I might give it to my stepdad.
