The first "TRUE" mullti-layout keyboard - Vintage60s
« on: Mon, 15 November 2021, 07:27:06 »
Hi everyone! I am Gary, the designer of G-Concept, long time no see! My studio had join venture with Gugu Studio who specialize in mechanical keyboard switch. So the new studio called "G Square Studio"

This time I would like to introduce you my new project "Vintage60s".
278561-0
Another vintage look typewriter design, which is my fav! Outter shape very simple with a touch of decoration by PVD copper bits, which will look more elegrant.

So what's new? and what is the special of Vintage60s?

I had spent nearly a year on 60s! The reason is I want to make it special, unique, and user friendly!
For the past experience tells me, some peope like the 60%, as it is small and delicate, but with the limited keys layout, it is not good enough for work or for gaming! So the 80% may preferrable. Sometimes when you want to buy a new keyboard, you may like the shape, but the layout may not suitable for you, then you start struggling buy it or not! This time I try to get this problem sort it for you. Hope you will like it!

The Vintage60s is “multi-layout", which can be adjust by change the top plate to change the key layout, it is supporting HHKB, 60, 64, 68, 84 keys layout, and how does this works? Let us see the pictures below to explain more clearly

HHKB layout
278563-1
60% layout
278565-2
64% layout
278567-3
68% layout
278569-4
84% layout
278571-5
The basic package will included all the top plate you need, and 2 pcbs (1 x hot swap and 1 x solder), so you don't have to make your decision of what layout you want, you can change it whenever you like.

Apart from the typewriter out looking, I also add a little gadget to 60s, which is the ”solnoid valve", it can imitate the sound effect of the typewriter. Original idea from the old IBM keyboard. Obviously the solnoid valve can be turn off if you don't want it, if not you boss or wife gonna to kill you!!

Let see more pictures on the actual proto-type:

Full details:
1) The mount style is top-mount
2) pcb is re-programmable with QMK/VIA
3) full aluminium case, available in 5 different color, black, cream white, cement gray, tiffany green, olivia pink.
4) All the small bits are PVD copper.
5) 2 x pcb(hot swap and solder)
6)3 x top plate
7) 2 x positioning plate (PC and Al)
8)2x poron mat
9)Aluminium case

The first slot will be up on sell in China in dec, limited of 115. Still looking for an agent to sell internationally. If you are intertested, please feel free to leave me a message. Any comment or questions are welcome to ask.

Thank you for your reading, I am looking forward for your comment, thank you!

Great idea, a sound test would be good.

Can you share pics of the internals & PCBs?

I actually did some special color, like dark wood pattern, marble stone, full black pvd, pearl paint. For other upgrade, I don't have any idea at the moment
