Yeah, I was sure it was going to be shilled, I mean the labor involved must be worth something.  Then again the description doesn't actually say that it works aside from the eBay "reburbished" boilerplate notice.

Then I got busy talking to cow-orkers.  Hehe.

Shills always come back for selling again. We'll see.

Hey guys how do you know if a bolt mod needs to be done? Is it a feeling thing or is it when keys stop responding?

I took apart my space saver and almost all the rivets on the bottom came off. But it's still types fine.

Well, if you're happy with your keyboard then there's no need to do the bolt mod.

And I was the seller. It was my first bolt mod, but it came out all right. More to come in the future.

Probably not. It's very time consuming, and dealing with all the little bolts and nuts makes you want to pull you hair out. It does give the board a more consistent feel, and less twangyness, but the effect is subtle at best. I'm not going to try it on any of my boards unless there are responsiveness issues with the keys.

This one was only missing a couple rivets, but I decided to try a full replacement just to see what the keys feel like afterwards. This board was pretty muddy before I restored it, so I wanted to clean the membrane (which you can't get at without removing all the rivets). This also proves to me that basically any Model M can be brought back from the dead.
