Since our last IC post, we’ve made a ton of progress on the Cosmo on both the manufacturing and the design side and so we’d like to (re)present the board to you guys today so we can get more feedback and better gauge interest.

Design
This board was designed with a space motif in mind, and so the overall design goal was to include stylistic callbacks to this theme in a way that was tasteful while also maintaining a sleek and elegant look overall.
In terms of sound and feel, we designed the Cosmo primarily to provide a soft and flexible typing experience, achieved by the leaf springs and the pcb and plate flex cuts.
We also wanted to play to the strengths of the naturally deeper tones of acrylic without the muddying of the low end; in other words, a deep, yet clean sound signature.

Prototype 1 (outdated 60% design)

Status:
Our first prototype has arrived! Its design is outdated, but we’ve still been able to get good information from it and are making design improvements for the second prototype.
