Introducing Vixen

Color options from left to right are Mourning, Fury, Surrender(e-coat), and Regal.

Vixen is the latest board from Eye Oh Designs. Taking inspiration form Prime_Elise, EM7, and Alice style boards, Vixen is an evolution of the babyV. This board aims to please fans of that keyboard that wanted something more premium. Its features include:

Case/Plate:
-babyV layout with some new bottom row options!
-Gasket mount.
-5 degree typing angle with 18 mm front height.
-Seamless aluminum anodized top case with a brass bottom/weight.
-Does not support plate mount stabilizers.

PCB:
-Compatible with MX style switches. Hotswap and Soldered PCB options are planned.
-Powered by a RP2040 running Vial.
-USB C connection and circuit protection through the unified daughterboard. As such, babyV PCBs are not compatible with Vixen.
-Supports screw-in and snap-in stabilizers.

Timeline for GB: Summer 2023

Current Status: This has languished a bit do to life, but I'm focused on getting this project done. I'm running a final IC to determine colors. PLEASE ONLY FILL OUT ONCE AND IF YOU PLAN TO BUY! I'll be ordering a final run of prototypes this week to test out some modifications to the weight internals. This will also likely be with a new manufacturer, so I'll be verifying their quality as well. Thanks for sticking around! I can't wait to get you your boards!

noice, very interested. babyV has been working well for me.

i have no idea what colour i would go for or if i would go for the poly case (assuming you do one). i have seen "e-coat" in other gb descriptions, i still have no idea what it is... or why its only ever the white colour...

whether i go for solder, hotswap, or both will depend on the build and how i feel when this goes to gb. if there ends up being only one option i dont think it would be a problem.

Wanted to finally jump in here and say that I spotted this over on Rxxxxt a couple weeks back--a little too late to jump on the IC form--but it's basically my ideal unibody board. I've been dying for a WKL design with ortho alphas. I like the Boardwalk, and have almost built one 1,000 times, but I just don't know that I can go back to something that requires my wrists to be that close together after years of split boards.

Anyway, all that to say.. I really really like what you're doing here, and I need one. The sooner, the better.

I don't have Vixen in red, but it's going to be the same shade as the humble40 red, which came out magnificent. There's a link to it in the top post.

Work's been pretty wild lately. I think we're looking more like mid-November and less like late October. I need to make some minor tweaks to the interior of the weight, finalize colors, and we'll be ready to go!
