Keychain arrived here. I'll send it out to Whiterice tomorrow and he should have it on Tuesday (if the Postal Service time in transit calculator is right). However it may be Wednesday (depends on the day, but going a state over usually doesn't take two days).

Initial impressions: Strongly tempted to begin saving for a Realforce.

We don't assume that. We just say that people won't have any need to steal in a Communist/Anarchist society, simply because they don't gain anything from it. People nowadays are swayed by advertising, and they want to be on top, because they see the inequalities in life today. Most petty crimes are eliminated because there is nothing to gain. Why steal from your neighbor when you can walk into a store and take it from there?

That sounds like a nice fantasy dream. Good luck with that playing out in the real world where there are, always have been, and alway will be inequalities, no matter what the government structure. When inequalities don't exist, is when everyone will be the same. This idea is contrary to the concept of what it is to be human. To be human is to want, to feel, to think, etc. differently from other people. Even if people don't benefit from stealing, they'll do it just because they can, or because they're bored, or for whatever other n amount of reasons they come up with. They'll also continue to be violent and kill just as people do today. Communism and anarchism solve nothing and their inherent design is dehumanizing.

Haha, gotta love the human nature discussion.

It scared me into spending $4.80 to get Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation instead of just slapping $1.08 of First Class stamps on it.

WhiteRice, you should get an email when the USPS scans it for shipment.

I guess one thing in everyone's favour is that if it DOES go missing, the last GH'er to send it along will have the jerk's address.  New rule, no PO boxes?

Too late for that, I got it at a box. Don't worry though, I have no intention of stealing it. I already paid for postage:

You are added. Last on the list within the US.

Most of you I sent an email with the question to send me your full address. I will make sure that the one preceding your name on the sinklist will receive it.

In the future I will leave more control to the individual sinklist members : this means that you will ask the person next in the list for his/her address. This leaves more time available for me to do other stuff. ( Like making a  keyboard videoguide *grin* )

Finally started moving. I got worried that I'd get the one post office worker that was a keyboard nut and he'd get the good feeling of oneness with cup rubber through the package and abscond with the keychain.

Got to test, Topre's variable realforce, not write on it, but feel it(those guys had cutted part of wire away in shop...), it's kinda weird and you can feel the difference between keys(the difference in a,s,d,f and modifiers...), but for me it wasn't too special. I have to learn to touch type first and then try it realy out...

Am I currently next on the list? I got a Canada Post notice saying someone requested I sign for the package at the post office (not that they attempted to deliver and I wasn't here, but that the sender specifically said not to deliver to my door).

If the previous person sent it on in this way, that'd be it and I'll try to get it Tuesday. If not there's a very good chance I'll have them return it at sender's expense.

Kishy,

It's not your turn yet :-)

It is safe to say the package at the post office is NOT the keychain.

Patience....

It's arrived to me.

I like it... But it doesn't feel *fantasticamazing*. Like a smoother, heavier Cherry MX brown. It is quite nice, and I would like to have a board with Topres now, but I don't think I'd be willing to pay $300 for it. $150 maybe?

I have too many errands tomorrow, I'll mail it along on Friday.

I just got the keychain.

The response is much as I expected, with a rubber dome delivering most of the tactility...but smoother going through the buckle point, and with said buckle point being higher along the travel to begin with compared to a typical rubber dome keyswitch. In any case, the transition definitely lacks the exactness of a buckling spring.

It's also very quiet. Might be a good choice for a portable board (though I want a full keyboard with numpad/tenkeys, not a HHKB) because of that, given how I already get stares when hammering things out on my E-295C's usual scissor switch + dome board.

Of course, this keychain can't tell me the actual electrical engage/release, and I'm not so sure that I want to drop $245 on a Realforce 103UB to find out.
