Wow.  Some of them got glitched on my screen, by spaces inserted periodically.  I tried replacing the "::" strings with ": :" to resolve that.

I say this one's worse.

Sends Firefox's CPU usage and memory consumption through the roof.

That's a lot of construction.

lol, kishy - you win.

Please nobody quote me anymore, this page is starting to get sluggish.

The vB issue is interesting. I see some of "my" emotes broken into badly spaced text, whereas the block quoted from them looks perfect.

Page isn't even a bit sluggish for me...and even I'm using the open-source ati drivers with dual-monitor (one in landscape).

Checked my CPU usage, not even pushing 10% on any of the cores.

Because I replaced all occurrences of "::" with ": :" in the quoted text,.

Is that all you got.  It too me a second to get the joke, since it didn't slow down my computer in the slightest.  Smooth as ever, and I'm using a Pentium 4.
Notable Switches I have tried:
black cherry, blue cherry, brown cherry, clear cherry, cherry M84, white alps, black alps, cream alps, Monterey blue alps, Fujitsu Peerless, Gateway2000 rubber dome, Keytronic rubber dome, Model M buckling spring, Model F buckling spring, futaba, black space invader

GPU fan? You mean CPU fan, most browsers don't render with the GPU.

GIFs are animated with the CPU, if I'm not mistaken, because, back in 1987, GPUs weren't as mature, or something?

lol, I realized it was a bad thread title mere moments after submitting it, but I can't change it.

FF4 really strains my system on this page (for about a half-minute)
IE8 runs smoothly, fan doesn't even need to kick on

wtf?  This seems bassackwards to me.  Maybe I should just try chrome.

Unless you're running beta versions, no browser uses the GPU to animate anything. Besides nobody thought a silly smiling face needed a GPU to animate :)

Pressing [Esc] stops GIF animations - but why doesn't it also throttle back the CPU fan?
