I'm not into psychology, but here's a nice Briggs-Myers personality test.

It nailed it at least for me. I'm ISFP.

This tests can be annoying due to their seeming lack of mutual exclusivity in the responses.

I don't take personality tests.
I felt some trepidation before clicking on the link and then trying it. Fortunately, though, this one was a legitimate personality test.

There were no questions about whether or not I had sexual fantasies about L. Ron Hubbard's daughter.

LOL - After reading Dianetics I was curious so I went in to a Scientology building back in Boston and it was several hours before I could escape again after a bizarre ritual involving soda cans on the ends of a wire... Very scary indeed.  All the windows were false - there wasn't any way to see in or out except right at the front door which only opens into a small vestibule with a table holding some hardcover Dianetics copies and cardboard promo stands.   And they practically chased me as I walked away assuring them they would not, even on a cold day in hell, be getting me to spend a mere $300-$400 to take classes, which apparently I so  desperately required.  (Because, you see, despite being "cleared" by the soda can machine, according to their test, I was a ticking time bomb of hostility and a danger to myself and society...)

According to THIS test, though I am a (respectively) Moderate, Moderate , Moderate, Slightly expressed ENFP.  (Exactly the same result as Personality profile on my FB page, which appears to be closely corroborated by my friends analysis of me as well.)  I guess this one doesn't measure hostility bomb potential.

Not entirely surprising that a certain personality "type" would be attracted to a forum dedicated to a relatively specific interest... I did notice that there is definitely a preponderance of "I" as opposed to "E" types in the thread already.  I wonder, though, how that factor would be influenced if the questions were less skewed towards "in person" social activity since there is a new sort of interpersonal interaction arising with the internet.  Much of my socialization is done online now, and I am a definite "E" type.  (LOL at "Muckraker", too - I was just thinking about posting something that would fit that...)

Having done a bit of psychology a long time ago, I'm always surprised just how short these online tests are.

hehe nice, can't say I did

That whole topic is not really new though. Can't point my finger on it where exactly I saw it but it must have been several movies where a teacher goes to a ghettoish school with ghettoish pupils and tries to turn stuff around for them.

Thought the whole cheating business was a twist in order to rip on belichick and created by the trey and matt. Didn't know it was also based on a movie.

Haha no problem - a lot of students in the US tend to watch that film at one point or another (I know I did) so I figured a lot of folks overseas wouldn't necc. get the reference. Check out the film if you get a chance, it's actually worth watching. It's about a famous guy named Jaime Escalante (it's based on a true story).

Yes, he was also "Tim", not to be confused with "Jim" from the BBC run of The Office.

As an aside, back around 2000 I recorded a song with vocals consisting entirely of Vogon poetry.

There seems to be a lot of INTJs on this 'board which is surprising since they usually only represent about 1% of the population.  I wonder if a lot of members are in technical jobs (programmers, DBAs, etc.), thus driving their desire for keyboards.

I also fall in the lower right of ripster's graph.  As much of a pinko as I tend to be, I really don't like people for the most part.

Information System Specialist      (I almost did this)

I would imagine that this board has hit upon a particular slice of society where certain layers of personality trait or common experience has overlapped into a somewhat narrow subset.  Not necessarily because of the interest in the keyboards, but also because of the depth of the examination of the keyboards is appealing also.  Whereas some groups might tend to be a small slice of a wider variety of folk that it may draw its fans from, it seems that certain particulars of the interest here has drawn a subset of a subset of a subset.  There are only at most 3 forums where I see such consistency in the posts as far as grammar and language being at a level which I now understand is far beyond average.  I suspect too that there is also some similar scale in terms of intelligence here and that trait alone tends to create a large percentage of the Introverts.  It would be interesting to compare some of the demographic stats and personality traits to see what else is common to have encouraged the joining of Geekhack.  This forum often surprises me almost every time I visit.  THAT is highly unusual in and of itself.  It doesn't surprise me then  that there is a disproportionate percentile of a "type" here that may be prevalent at GH and less so in society as a whole.  I'd actually rather expect it to be that way.
