Bit of an odd question

Hey guys. First post here. I'm looking to buy a mechanical keyboard, after the fascination over Fruit Dealer's keyboard (found this site from teamliquid ^^) and I've pretty much settled on a Filco with Cherry Brown switches. The only problem is that the only ones I can find have a US layout. I'm from the UK but I wouldn't mind adjusting to a US layout, except for 1 key.

This: ¬

On US keyboards, you can't do this without an alt code as far as I know. I'm sure you all know this since you're keyboard pros but it's where the tilde key is on US keyboards as far as I know. My question is, if I got a US keyboard, could I get this key back somehow? Could I map the tilde key to show ¬ or something?

ooo, very nice. :)

So that's the main problem out of the way. Now for a similar, smaller problem - can I add a play/pause button to one these Filco's? I think I read a few days ago about some software that can do it, but I can't find it. I just need a play/pause button for foobar2000, then the Filco would be perfect.

It's still a tilde. The key is just over on the right side of the keyboard to the left of the enter key.

Yes. I use the reverse, UK keyboard with US layout.

My ¬ key prints ~.

I'm curious tho, do you actually use that character? It's part of the EBCDIC layout which is not even used anymore AFAIK. (Think IBM mainframes with punch cards).

Getting a particular type of keyboard seems like quite a bit of effort to go to...

If you use it that often, you should use macros for it.
