Question about Realforce keyboard
« on: Mon, 10 June 2024, 11:46:24 »
I plan to get a Realforce R3HB11 (the 104 sized, wireless model) for work. But my work PC in office doesn't allow Bluetooth. For all keyboards in my office, it's either wired or wireless with a 2.4G Receiver. Is there a product (say a USB dongle) that can be turned into a designated receiver for the Realforce keyboard and allows me to use it as a normal wireless keyboard?

Hi thanks for your reply
Yeah I have heard of similar products. But it's just that from my understanding, those USB BT dongles are for granting PC the Bluetooth capability, like allowing it to connect to different BT devices?
Is there a specific type of USB BT dongle that is only for pairing to a specific device (say a keyboard)?

I've looked for such a thing, but have never found one. Is there a reason you can't use the keyboard in wired mode?

Hi there,
It's mainly about some bad experience.
I had been using a Filco Convertible for a few years in wired mode because of the issue with my PC's Bluetooth (yeah I know that sounds stupid...)
I had to plug/ unplug the keyboard as I needed to move it around from time to time. After a few years, the mini-USB port of the keyboard was getting looser and eventually broke. I had to take it to the local authorized distributor for repair. I'm just worried that it'll happen to the Realforce keyboard. There's no authorized distributor in my country...
Another thing is I'll have to move the keyboard very often as I'm not allowed to leave personal stuff on the desk... Using it in wireless mode will be more convenient for me
P.S. I bought the Keyboard yesterday. Topre feels soooooo good.
