Please let us combat the scalpers and run this set without the glitter like R1.

Maybe adding the glitter alphas kit might be more beneficial as it may draw R1 owners wanting to spice up their kits without needing to spend on an entire base kit.

I second the suggestion for the glitter mods as a standalone kit. Is it feasible to add also the 2020 deskmat from the previous run? Its prices are crazy aftermarket and it would probably sell a lot (though I can understand we are not in 2020 anymore).

please... no glitter... i need to pretend like i'm an og and was there when it first ran. please also you can make the kitting exactly like it was in r1 and then use the old potato starch trays that couldn't stack properly and could barely hold keys. this is so important to me.

IMHO, it’d be better to call this GMK Future Funk - Sparkle Edition, OR keep it as an R2 and add the sparkles as a new kit, like 80082 BLU.

100% agree with this. I missed out on R1 (bc I wasn't in the hobby yet) have really wanted to get this set since I learned about it. I would more than likely pick up a separate base as well as the OG (Bc I really wanna support this set) but I wouldn't pick up just a sparkle set by itself.

Thanks for pointing this out. My mind just threw an R in there out of habit, so I wasn't thinking of it as a new take on an old theme.

Calling it something like "Future Funk Take 2" or "Future Funk Redux" might help people like me.

Thanks for all the IC form submissions, we’re still waiting on samples from GMK, but once we can validate the metallic flake, we can make more solid decisions (with IC form replies in mind) and set a GB date.

Based on the exorbitant aftermarket prices of R1 and the feedback in this IC I'd imagine there would be enough demand for two base kits; One with and one without glitter. Personally, I strongly dislike the glitter and would hesitate to participate in the GB if a base kit without it isn't offered, but I understand how it can appeal to a certain crowd (similar to RGB LED's on keyboards).

Regarding kitting, I know this isn't an R2 per se, but R1 had excellent kitting. I would not hate it if you copied much (or all) of it. IMHO at least icon-only mods and mono-hiragana/katakana alphas are definitely a must!

I think it looks better without the glitter.
The manufacturing process of adding glitter is expected to increase the price, but there is not much preference for glitter.
Also, some people will get pretty glitter, and some won't.
It‘s good to try new things, but I don’t want it to be a sequel that‘s worse than the first.
