[IC] DSA Custard keycaps

DSA Custard
309930-0

Introducing the latest keycap project: DSA Custard. This keycap set is inspired by the colour palette of classic French pastries, capturing the rich, creamy tones reminiscent of custard.

Design Concept: The DSA Custard keycap set is crafted in the DSA profile, known for its uniform height across all rows, which enhances typing comfort and adaptability. This profile is ideal for various keyboard layouts, including compact 40% keyboards and models such as the Filco Minila Air and Minila-R.

While the colour inspiration is derived from custard, this shade will not be used extensively across the keycaps. Instead, the custard-like YCC colour will be thoughtfully applied to the legends, reflecting its role as a defining flavour in French desserts rather than dominating the set.

Current Progress: Collaboration with SP is currently underway to order colour samples to ensure the final production colours match the design vision. SP’s production timeline is on track, with an estimated production time of 10 to 12 weeks. All colours will utilise SP’s existing colour samples; however, apart from YCC, other colours are yet to be finalised. Colour samples will be provided and the post updated before the group buy begins.

Additionally, this keycap set will feature large Alpha legends, similar to the alpha area of DSA Hana, enhancing the typing experience.

Why DSA Profile? The DSA profile’s uniform height makes it highly adaptable to various rare and compact keyboard layouts. Its consistent typing experience ensures excellent comfort across both standard and unconventional layouts.

Feedback is welcomed, and it is hoped that the DSA Custard keycap set generates the same excitement within the community!

Your IC limits me to picking one layout I want support for. I'd want a healthy base kit with support for most standard layouts

Please consider adding Colevrak homing keys. The Alphas kit already has two required keycaps: non-homing F & J.

Here are three ideas to complete the coverage:

1) Low cost = add two blank homing keys to the alphas kit. This would support any alt layout, although without legends it's not ideal.

2) Standard = add homing U, H, T, and N to Alphas, and add 1.75u Backspace to TKL mods. These five keycaps support at least nine layouts: Dvorak, Colemak, Colemak DH, ColemaQ, Asset, Workman, Niro, Norman, and QWPR.

3) Deluxe = add an Eight-Finger Homing child kit. Fifteen keycaps would cover QWERTY plus all the layouts listed above: homing U, H, T, N, A, E, S, I, D, O, R, K, L, and semicolon/colon, as well as 1.75u Backspace.

One more thought: add the five standard keycaps in 2) to the ISO kit. Appealing to a wider audience, the resulting ISO/Colevrak kit might sell better than ISO alone. Especially if all the vendors offered it.

Hi thank you so much for your advice. I've added a homing kit to the last pic of the IC form and will do a update for all kitting renderings after a couple of days. And I also added a Colevrak kit option to the IC form just in case if anyong is interested on that. If I got more than 10 vote for that will do a rendering for  Colevrak kit   ;)
