Cherry stabs with long pole switches
« on: Thu, 19 September 2024, 11:51:59 »
Hello everyone,

I've been using cherry clip-ins in my last build and even tho they work fine with full travel switches, my spacebar is ticking a little when I change to long pole switches. I have tried adding some Geon spacers as well but the ticking still persists.

I am using 205g0 for plastic to plastic, xhzt bdz for the wires and some dielectric grease at the butt of the wires. Also I am using c3 wires that I am balancing and straightening.

I have tried using only dielectric grease or even 205g0 for the wires but still no luck.

Would you happen to have any idea what it might be the cause?
Any input or tip would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

in some cases the switch stem is a little longer than the stabs stems. this can be fixed with some plastic wrap.
also sometimes the mountpoints on the spacebar (or pcb) are not perfectly spaced, causing slight tilt.
just some ideas, no expert on stabs.
