[HELP NEEDED] - Lucky65 V2 PCB/Sockets issue

Hellooooo!

First time posting here, gotta say I love the old school forum style is still existing!

Anyway.
I have recently bought this Lucky65 V2, following a mix of hype and a desire to change things up from my old CIY84.

Beautiful piece.
Horrible to setup with VIA. (Not recognized, can't make it work, the official json file barely helps too. ANYWAY.)

Long story short: A third of the PCB is dead.


I am especially careful when it comes to switches installation and I have heard no suspicious sounds when doing the installation but apparently, 1/3 of the pcb is dead. (cf. key tester on via)


Yellow is not working

I have checked reddit about switches being too lose in the socket so it can be fixed by pushing the contacts but only on Kailh hotswap sockets but I have these random QMSEN ones that are enclosed. I couldn't even test the PCB before, using the pliers technique. This is perhaps the worst sockets I have encountered.


Weird ass sockets.

The switches feel loose in the sockets, some work but require a LOT of strength for the keypress to register.
Note that this happened straight out of the box.

I am especially pissed cause it was a big expense on my end.

It's last resort fixes that I am looking for before I just throw it back to the sender for a refund.

Anything to make sure I can use the item I have fckn paid for.

I think the footprint is the same as Kailh hotswap sockets. You could always replace them yourself. I haven’t done an entire board, but adding some flux or solder with flux, heating it up, and then using a pump should be fairly straightforward, though a bit time-consuming.

i would start with a multimeter and try to find the cause. first measure the resistance of the connection between switch and micro controller pin (remember not to use the beeping function and actually measure the resistance, should be less than 6 ohms, but hold together the measuring tips first to check).
if a path shows connection but more resistance than expected, you probably measure a diode. if a path just is not connected you found (at least one of) your problem(s).

If all else fails, you can replace the PCB.
