Introducing KAP Generation, the first keycap set to be produced using the new KAP Legend System, created in partnership with Keyreative. The set features a striking colour combination of hot pink and translucent maroon, with a modern set of legends and some fun complementary novelty keys. KAP Generation is offered in one of two base kits: a comprehensive generic base kit with support for common ANSI and ISO layouts, as well as a German language-specific base kit. Additionally, child kits are available supporting 40% and Mac keyboards.

Many thanks to everyone who has fed into the design process fo these legends, and in particular to Keyreative in supporting my vision for this legend system. Hopefully this will be the first of many sets in a comprehensive family of high quality keycaps. I’m excited for others to finally get their hands on these keycaps!

I'm not a fan of the color combo myself, but I see a lot of potential with these molds. Good luck with the IC

Love this kitting. It's very well thought out imo.

It kills me that some legends are left-aligned while others are centered.

Are you talking about the 1U modifiers? You think these shouldn’t be centre-aligned?

Even 1U alt/ctrl/super/func are left-aligned, but all legends in the three arrow columns are centered. And the FN keys in both Base kits are left-aligned, but in the Mac kit they are centered. And in the German Base kit, the FN row's × is centered but the Numpad's × is left-aligned.

Even 1U alt/ctrl/super/func are left-aligned, but all legends in the three arrow columns are centered. And the FN keys in both Base kits are left-aligned, but in the Mac kit they are centered.

These are all very intentional decisions I made, after trading off the various different compromises with making legends look good together. For the bottom row, consistency with each other is the most important factor. For keys in the paging and arrow clusters, alignment along a vertical axis is more important.

The reason the F-row key legends are centered for the Mac versions is because once you add an icon sublegend they look wrong if the F key legend is still left-aligned, and so I chose to horizontally align them. This isn’t an issue in itself if you’re only using all-Mac F keys or all standard ones; it’s only an issue if you mix and match them which I have to assume most people wouldn’t do.

And in the German Base kit, the FN row's × is centered but the Numpad's × is left-aligned.

You’re conflating two entirely different keys: one is a cross shape novelty key, the other is a numpad multiplication sign. I’ve included four shape novelties in the German base kit at the request of MonacoKeys as these keys are provided on some Keychron keyboards and they sell a lot of keys to Keychron users, so it seemed like a sensible request.

I appreciate that these choices won’t suit everyone. It’s essentially impossible to please everyone at the same time whilst trying to do something new, and not everyone is even interested in the new. I do stand by my choices though, and I’d rather hear feedback centred on practical concerns than stylistic nitpicking from people who probably aren’t going to buy this set anyway.

Just got my new keycap set and here's my take:

What I Love:
-Thickness & Quality: These caps feel solid and well-made.
-Smooth Texture: Typing feels great with the smooth finish.
-ISO-DE and ANSI-DE Support: Nice to see both layouts covered.
-Colors: The modifier and key colors look awesome together.
-Packaging: The box is top-notch; unboxing was a treat.
-Font: Clean and sharp legends.

Neutral Points:
-Novelty Keycaps: Not really into the "OK Boomer" and "Poop" keys. honestly..
-Tilde Key Color: some want it deep red just add it.. (im fine without though thats why neutral)

What I Dislike:
-Double Labeling on Modifiers: Having both text and symbols feels cluttered; pick one style. this actualy prevents it from beeing a daily driver
  -Specialy R1..
- Some keys hafe Shinethrough wich i feel they should not hafe like it should be consistant in some kind of way. (i added a screenshot with super intense backlight)

Also, the darker red color is killer—right up there with GMK Dragon or Infernal, and way better than PBTfans Count Dracula.

Overall i hope i will like the doublelables i love the color

Thank you for sharing and providing feedback! I believe kapowaz is also very grateful for your feedback!

Here is my explanation of the keycap structure:
- Our KAP uses small mold injection, with each keycap requiring two injection processes. In
KAP Generation, the legends are first injected, and then they are placed into the second mold for the outer shell injection.
- At this point, to allow the plastic to enter legends with closed structures such as "8" and "4," we need to add additional channels. This channel is the reason for the inconsistent light transmission appearance.
- The four semi-transparent dots at fixed positions visible from the front are to make the keycap stem more stable.
- For example, companies like GMK use dense horizontal and vertical grilles.
