Most likely it always has been, it was safely disguised as an April fools in case the reused colorway would stir controversy
the extra support in the Base Kit that most sets don’t include, like 1.50U Supers, a 6U Spacebar, Stepped Control, and full Numpad coverage.
Which is not the slimmer kitting presented in the IC that got people excited about it not being the usual overloaded copypaste base and could have contributed to keeping prices reasonable
I mean 150 bucks before taxes and shipping with 3 stock colors out of 4 at NK MOQs is not that impressive of an achievement (full numpad coverage is plain standard)
False, no one knew I had this idea in mind (aside from a few IRL friends) before making the IC. I have no way to prove it, so believe what you want to believe.
I explained in the IC why the kitting had to be changed, 6.25U bottom-row is used by the majority of buyers, and not including it would've hurt the set's sales.
At the end of the day Vendors need some sort of expectancy that the set is going to sell, and margins are already small. This is not a game, it's real life.
Full Numpad coverage is NOT standard, most GMK sets are missing 1U 00 and sometimes 1U Equal.
