Flint 65

313353-0

Hello! I’m excited to share some of the work I’ve been doing on a keyboard I’m designing. This is my first attempt at anything keyboard-related, and I may have chosen a challenging path without realizing it!

Let’s get started, shall we? Here’s some information about the board:

Specifications

313355-1  313357-2

313359-3

Layout: 65%
Typing Angle: 6.5 Degree
Front Height: 23.9mm (Without Feet)
Mounting Style: Poron Gasket (Top 4/Bottom 2/No Spacebar Mounting points)

Design

So, what does it look like? In its current rendering model state, it looks a little like this:

313353-4

The front of the keyboard there an added edge on top of it from the middle weight.

313450-5

The keyboard's unique charm shines through its side profile, where a subtle rounding curve creates an inviting and distinctive look. It's this elegant design feature that sets it apart from the rest!

313367-6 313369-7

On the back, it's a simple design with silicone feet on it.

Layout

(The layout is supposed to resemble something like this:)

313361-8  313363-9

Hotswab layout                                                                          Solder layout

Kit Option
Top Case: Alu/PC(Maybe)
Bottom Case: Alu/PC(Maybe)
Middleweight: Brass/Copper/SS PVD/Alu PVD
PCB: 1.6mm Hotswap/Solder
Plate: Alu/CF/PP/Brass
COLORS: TBD, please fill out the IC form for your favorite color combo.

Overall, the design is simple and minimalistic, which I appreciate. There isn't too much going on here.

Colorways

Here are some more colorways I want to implement on the board :)

313371-10

Light Blue

313373-11

Pirate Black

313375-12

Plum

313377-13

Lightest Sky

313379-14

Polycarb

And here are some more renders.

313381-15

313383-16

313385-17

313387-18

Things to do:

Start prototyping with aluminum and polycarbonate materials.

That’s all I have for now! I welcome any criticism and feedback.
