INTRODUCTION

We designed the Kitsune as a playful yet sophisticated 70% FRL-TKL keyboard, aiming to reinterpret the bold geometry of classic mechanical keyboards through modern innovation. Inspired by fox origami, its polygonal form is shaped with sharp folds and intersecting planes to express a sculptural presence and bring a sense of artistry to its case design.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

We set out to embrace a seamed design aesthetic, treating visual breaks as a defining part of the board’s character rather than concealing them. With this in mind, we carried a polygonal theme through every element, from the angular case to the faceted copper weight, so that each surface and edge contributes to a unified, origami-inspired vision.

Would love some playful colour options. An e-coat yellow or (ano or e-cot)  Hunter orange would be amazing! Also please have a LED caps lock indicator. Not fussed with brass or copper, but a coated weight would be nice as an alternative.

Definitively following! Loving the angles on this and the cherry lip!

Thanks for the interest! We’re planning for the board to support a weight option. Brass is definitely being considered, though we’re also exploring other materials to balance aesthetics, feel, and cost. Nothing is final yet, so feedback on preferred weight materials is welcome.

We don’t have confirmed vendors yet. At this stage we’re gathering feedback and gauging interest by region, which will help guide which vendors we approach. If there are specific vendors you’d like to see carry the board, feel free to suggest them.

Good question. We are not related to Atelier by Pluskb or its Origami boards such as the Origami TKL. Our studio is called Origami Keys, and Origami is the theme behind our design philosophy. To avoid confusion, we’re naming this project “Origami Keys: Kitsune.”

Thanks for the feedback! We’ve seen interest in playful finishes like e-coat yellow or hunter orange, so it’s something we’ll be keeping in mind as options develop. A caps lock LED indicator and coated weight are also ideas we’re exploring, though nothing is set in stone yet. Really glad you’re enjoying the angles and the cherry lip!

KeebznCables in Ocenia would be my input.

A relatively simple design, and I think that is its big strength. It looks nice, has some subtle accents when viewed on the desk, and uses a time tested mount. I like it.

Thanks so much! We really wanted a design that feels clean and timeless. The geometric theme runs consistently through the board, so the details tie together nicely on the desk. Super happy you picked up on that
