Software for designing keycaps?
« on: Wed, 12 August 2026, 14:05:33 »
I was wondering what software people use to design their key caps? I was interested in making my own after seeing a keyboard with a specific look and wanted to purchase the key caps themselves. Sadly they don' sell the caps by themselves so I decided I would try to make my own. However googling stuff I could not find a definitive answer or a "leader" in what to use to design them.

The KRK2 plug-in for Blender is extremely useful to make renders to have a decent idea how the set would look.
For the novelties and such, just do them in a software that allows you to vectorize them, depending on manufacturer you're probably going to need to port them over to Adobe Illustrator.
