Just got my Filco Majestouch...
« on: Sat, 13 November 2010, 01:21:22 »
and it feels amazing! I barely have to out any pressure to type thanks to these Cherry black switches!

Gaming with them feels very nice and comfortable and i've had no trouble playing any game. Played CoD:BO and some SC2 and this game me no problems.
I came from typing on a Logitech G510 and this is a very different change. Different, but good.
I'll post updates as I use the keyboard more.
Will post pics when I get a better camera than my iPhone.
Keyboards:
KBC Poker
Cherry G80-11900
Cherry G80-3494

Unfortunately this is my first mechanical keyboard, but i'd like to try the other switches some time.

I was looking at the Xarmor keyboard, but since I have a tiny desk, I needed a tenkeyless keyboard.
I do however miss the backlight that my G510 had.

Low pressure? Blacks? :suspicious: Your old board must have been pretty lousy.

There are two approaches for solving this kind of problem (which complement each other nicely):
1. Improve ambient lighting.
2. Switch to light-colored keyboards with dark lettering (high contrast preferred).
The combination of the two works pretty well for me.

Unfortunately the only light-colored tenkeyless with any kind of availability would be the Topre Realforce 86U.
Hardware in signatures clutters Google search results. There should be a field in the profile for that (again).

This message was probably typed on a vintage G80-3000 with blues. Double-shots, baby. :D

Haha, my Blacks feel like they require so much force compared to the Blues I type on day to day. Of course, I used Blues before trying out Blacks, but I must say they are still both an improvement over anything Logitech makes. By a considerable amount.

But just wait till you try Blues or Browns. Will feel like air.

keyb_gr: I originally wanted to get a Realforce 86U, but I couldn't find one anywhere so I settles for a Filco.

I want to try Brown switches next since those are the lightest, but I dont know when that will be.

I'm wondering what's the switch of the space bar on my Filco Majestouch Cherry MX Brown. It feels different from rest of the keys. Feels linear, so maybe black?

On the Filcos, it's another Brown.
