Foam and foil pad replacement

Found this while looking for ways to replace crumbled battery compartment door padding foam:
Making foam pads for an Apple LISA keyboard
(Suggestions for a more durable replacement for ~5 mm thick foam sheets are appreciated, btw. All the stuff has to do is keep batteries and corresponding compartment door from rattling around.)

Hardware in signatures clutters Google search results. There should be a field in the profile for that (again).
This message was probably typed on a vintage G80-3000 with blues. Double-shots, baby.

I wonder if the foam pad/sliders from a Keytronic PC keyboard with rubber cups would work. If you want some, I could mail you a few.
Wouldn't aluminium tape work as well as that mylar + double-sided tape combo ?
