Welp, Newegg.ca just deactivated their rosewill mech board ( and reactivated the US version)that I was planning to buy this week, which leaves me with no other option for a mech board this holiday in Canada except the Das...

What I want to know is

1.If Newegg.ca will reactivate if I send them a message
2.Go for a Filco Tenkeyless blue, and settle with the echange
3.Settle with the Das
4. Any other quality mechanical keyboards in Canada

Im conflicted geekhack community, help me D:

Dang.. was waiting forever for the US version to get back in stock, but at ~$108 shipped it's not really worth it. :(

Sorry for you in Canada though. :(  How much are the Das over there?  $102 here in the US with a student discount, which is even CHEAPER than the Rosewill. =/

BTW:  I'm waiting til Black Friday before I pull the trigger.  Das offered a discount last year.  I'm hoping they'll do the same this year. *crosses fingers*

Send a polite email to Newegg & Rosewill. Make specific mention that you are in Canada and want to buy form Newegg.ca. One will provide the answer on stock.

Elitekeyboards will have a Black Friday sale the day you elect a Black Prime Minister.

True, but that's the way things go when you have a site selling a niche product with exclusive distribution that's selling out quickly at the regular price.

Thanks!  Well, sort of.  Now you're making my choice between the Das with browns and the Rosewill with blues even harder! LOL.

Sorry Rice, didn't mean to thread crap and get you confused. =)

Tempting. Pulled the trigger on BlackWidow, now RK-9000's at around the same price range. I can always return one, right? ...

Even worse, with EDU discount, the Das is only $98, shipped.

With everything so close in price, how is a keyboard addict to choose? And I should really have a cherry board...
HHKB Pro 2 -- Custom UNIX layout Unicomp Customizer 101 -- IBM Model M 1391401 (modded to UNIX layout) -- IBM 1397000 (also UNIX layout) -- SSK in UNIX layout -- Model F 122 key in UNIX layout (Soarer USB "native")

CST L-TracX trackball -- Kensington Expert Mouse trackball

You have to email support, and include a picture of your student ID, but yes, it does make it tough.

LOL my student ID = bootie

I say get one now and get the other eventually. Your best bet would be the 9000 since its cheaper and most likely to run out of stock sooner than the Das. Das also seem to be real good on refilling stock. The Das model S Silent was out of stock for a week and now showing a ETA of the 22nd. You can even preorder.

Like many say if you only get one, you're going to end up wonder how the other switch feels and eventually buy it anyways.

Why I just pulled the trigger and bought two along with my lovely model m (loving the sound it makes).

If keeping cost low is main condition, I guess, the Black Widow and the Das may be the options available. The only keyboard I have in the list (with blue Cherry) is the Das. I am very happy with it so far. THe first one I got had a bad key, but Metadot took care of this.
Cherry MX Blue: Cherry G80-3000, Das Keyboard Model S Ultimate
Cherry MX Brown: Filco Majestouch, Compaq MX11800
ALPS: AEK, AEK II, Northgate Omnikey Ultra, Matias Tactile Pro 4
Topre: Realforce 103UB
Buckling Spring: IBM Model M 1390120
Previous owned: Unicomp Customizer 104, IBM Model M 1390141, ABS M1
