I don't really think its leather. Probably it's synthetic leather.

The EK one is naturally tanned leather from japanese cows with a special coating against water, you get what you pay for. I'd have some problems with using cheap leather that touches my hands all the time, you might get allergies from it or worse.

I am pretty certain it says genuine leather since I can read and understand the Chinese characters, but, who knows whether its real or not ;P I guess they use naturally tanned leather from Korea, since Korea has the best keyboard in the world, so, I believe they have the best cows. (You can try to ask any Korean)
I rrrove brrracks.

It is, actually. Kobe cows are called wagyu in Japanese, and thats what the leather is from. From EK: "The leather
is tanned with a vegetable-based tannin. Once assembled the surface of
the leather is then treated with moisturizing/waterproofing product from
Italy called Noacqua and then finally the edge of the palm rest (at the
seam) is treated with a acrylic-based sealant for durability."

Even if it is genuine leather for 20$, the quality will be bad. It could be a danger to your health even. Naturally tanned is not very likely for that price, since it involves many more steps than usual tanning. Also its not important from which country the leather is, but the general quality, leather gets sorted by quality and only the highgest quality leather is elected for some more complicated tanning processes.

Just saying.

split grain are patches of leather coated with polyurethane right?

well of course it might not be a problem, but what i was trying to say was that the price EK put on the 3-star wristrests is justified.

As far as I know the Ducky ones come from the same factory as the other Filco (non three star) ones. So they are just as bad as those :bored:
I wonder if Majestouch is hurting from the PC-Home discovery yet or if he is still fine from all the sold out Filco browns.

[welly]Hey, we can even return keyboards at this shop for 30 days without any questions asked![/welly] (assuming we bother to ship them back to Taiwan)

Split leather results in rawhide and suede.

LOL as soon as I saw you posted, I had a feeling that you were going to post the rawhide video.

$35 sounds decent to me. I can finally get rid of this crappy gel-filled one with sweat stains and random coffee stains on it.

Are those wrist-rests for tenkeyless or full-size keyboards?
