Blue Label.  I'm sure of it.

Good thing I have been on this forum long enough to know your comments.

But probably a 42H or later.

I thought so too. But does not the 42H1292 has a straight cord as opposed to a coiled one?

I think it's like the one in the pic, coiled but notice it's thinner and flatter than a typical SDL cable.  The straight ones are fairly rare and I'm sure Unicomp has boxes of them despite Chuck telling me they don't.

I noticed this too. Anyway I made an offer for much less than the seller was asking so that he says no.

That's a 52g.  The 42h has a non-coiled cable on the right side of the keyboard.

I call that the Tijuana Ebay strategy.

What's a Tijuana?

Ah yes, it could be the 82G as well, they do have the same cable.  The 52g is more common, though, so my money would still be on the 52g.  Either way, it's a nice looking keyboard :)

The more I look the more I am finding sources for IBM Model M. I just found that someone on another forum happens to have a few of these which he is willing to part with for  a fair price. I don't know what a fair price is. This may be interesting for Canadian buyers, since shipping may be less. I am trying to resist buying more since even the one I have will unlikelyb break in the next few years.

Basically, there is not way without the label to truly know, is there?

Not as far as I can tell, but I doubt it matters too much.  Those are all fairly similar keyboards.

Seller came back accepting my offer. In less than 10 days, I've bought three keyboards. This keyboard buying thing must stop.

In 4 months, I have bought:

9 IBM space savers, 2 unicomp customizers, 2 filco 104 browns, 3 full-sized model Ms, a ducky 1087, an nmb space invader, 2 abs M1s, an ancer keyboard, an M13, an ortek, and probably some others I am forgetting about.

...and you think YOU have a problem?

Well, it depends on how we define the problem :-)
Everything is subject to the law of diminishing return. I am at the point where each keyboard, while bringing me some additional satisfaction, is probably bringing less extra satisfaction.
