I have a model M and the keycap weight was perfect. I wanted to go black and got black keys from unicomp and they are heavier and the feel is off. It's ok but off. Anyone else notice this? What do you guys think?

Anyone else makes keycaps for model m's?

When I went from the factory two-piece keycaps/stems on a 1391401 to one-piece blank black caps/stems from Fentek I noticed a slight difference in feel and sound. I don't have any third-party two-pieces to compare though.

My only pun with Unicomp Keys its their printing, its uneven and off center but then again at .25 cents a key no one looks bad

What's the difference in feel between a well-used Model M and a new Customizer? I imagine the springs get worn over time.... does this make the switches easier to click? harder?

I'm considering a Unicomp to replace my M, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it.

That is why you should not use a computer with a mechanical keyboard on an airplane without the stewardesses permission ...

Anyway,... is this a comparison between black and grey single-piece Model M keys? Perhaps they are of slightly different types of plastic, with different amounts of dye. A plastic could have its own colour, in which case the amount of dye has to be measured so that it changes the colour relatively. The more opaque the plastic is to begin with, the more dye is needed. Or perhaps some other additive has to be used to accommodate the dye.
