Damn, somebody who knows more about legos than I do.  The newer ones don't have anything printed on the back but the old ones do.  But yes, the gold buckle should be on the front.

Nope. It's because local distributors charge a whooping USD$150 for a Filco.
Whereas a Ducky only cost USD$110 for a Ducky 9008, but we have to wait 1 month for it.

Ducky comes with free purple WASD and 2 Red-ESC
Local Filco charge USD$15 for purple WASD and USD$5 for Red-ESC

So Ducky ($110) VS Local Filco($175) for the same accessories.

Filco Distributors are over charging/pricing Filcos here...

The rumor was that Cherry had one plant that made switches for Cherry products and there was another that made switches for third-party vendors.  While I doubt that's exactly the case, there might be some incidental truth to it since Cherry uses PCB-mounted switches and pretty much everyone else doesn't.  Being that the only difference between the switches, AFAIK, is the bottom part of the casing, I doubt they would be made in different plants.

In Ripster's pic, IIRC, the top switch is from a Filco and the bottom from the Cherry SPOS.

Very surprising, unless there is something we're missing.  I have come around a lot on this keyboard.  Right now it's my favorite one in the collection, until the newness wears off :D

Well all of the sudden we have a lot of ducky 1087 owners :3

I concur that it is interesting that we have so many low serial numbers. Makes me wonder how many they produced for the their first run.

Yeah, I bet there hasn't been a lot of prior demand for US keyboard layouts.  Maybe that's why...
