I wasn't looking too forward to my Leo showing up after all the stuff I read here, but upon receiving it, I was pleasantly surprised!  The keycaps are terrific, mine stays perfectly in place, and the build quality is great.  I know some didn't like the stabilizers as well, but they do not bother me in the least.

It is definitely head and shoulders above the ducky 1087 and on par with the Filco in my opinion.  It's very nice and solid, with a good amount of weight to it.  Will it keep me from going back to my SSK?  Not sure yet, but I am using it for now :)

Yeah, I am also loving mine. I'm not sure if some people got boards with lame stabilizers or if I am not as picky, but they feel just fine to me. This board is everything I wanted and the detachable USB cable is awesome for portability. I'm very happy with it. ^_^

Yeah, I really am curious to know whether it was just a dud or if I'm too picky. Regardless, I think I'm going to sell it. Going to sit on it another day or two.

since my leo is my first mech board, i'll prolly have this thing a good long time.  i would however like someone to put a leo and a filco tenkeyless side by side and do some physical comparison.  perhaps a leo and the filco red tenkeyless since it was between those two boards for me.

The Leo is not a BAD board, I'm just used to Filcos which...are better. :) You can't deny the difference in quality if they're side by side.

The Leo is better than anything you're going to find in Best Buy, it's not crap, the Filco is just better.

In what way, could you elaborate? The Leo is the first mech I have so I have no basis for comparison.

Really, everything. The quality of the keys, the chassis, the stabilizers, the feel.

It's like comparing a Volkswagen and an Audi. It's just an unfair comparison. One is made for normal people, one is for discerning persons of taste.

I own 2 Filcos and a Leopold and I can tell you, if you REALLY care about having the BEST out there...get a Filco. Leopold feels like the consumer version. Pretty good but not top tier, not at all.

Let some people play on my Leo after I got. Had some positive comments about the blues switches but overall people were pretty iffy on the board. Didn't really convince them of much.

After letting my CEO type on my Filco Linear R for 30 seconds tonight all he said was "send me the link for where to get that thing."

Nice. I am stoked for the arrival my Filco even more now. Seeing as I love the Leo, I don't know what word I will find for how I will feel over the Filco hahaha.

why do I pop into these threads? I just got my leo and now I can't help but consider the tenkeyless blue filco on amazon.

I sort of want to try different switches but moreso I want to feel the difference between similar boards from different companies.

and I love the aesthetic of both tenkeyless boards. leo with no name, filco in silver.

I am not agreeing with Chobo so much about the filco being head and shoulders better than the leo.  I love the smoothness of the filco caps, but they are prone to getting too shiny.  I also like the lasered leo keys.

The actual build quality of mine is right there on par with the filco.  The only real edge I see the filco having are the stabilizers, and that is pretty minor to me...

Seeing as all of your Cherry switch boards use Cherry style stabilizers, I'm guessing you just prefer that feel of key.

For me, I prefer my keys to have a normalized feel. The Cherry style stabilizers make those keys feel VERY different than the non-stabilized keys. They're not as crisp, they require noticeably more force to depress, it just feels cheap to me and not as well thought out as Filco keys.

Maybe I've been on scissor switches for too long but I expect all my keys to have a similar feel, it's part of the same reason I'm not into variable force for Topres.

My filco has Cherry stabilizers?  Which filco doesn't the tenless ones?

Oh, I see...  I took my filcos off my sig because I am getting rid of them.  I still have one filco 104 with browns, Chobo.  I had two until yesterday.

Ah interesting. Yeah, I guess you just like that feel. For me those keys feel kind off to me on the Leo and don't fit the crispness of the non-stabilized keys.

I agree with Chobo on this one.  I had used the leopold brown tenkeyless for about a week for a couple hours a day when I game and design / develop at home and the shift / spacebar keys do feel different from the main keys.  I only noticed how much of a difference there was after receiving my filco red tenkeyless this past Monday.  I can tell that the Filco had more uniformity in terms of feel for all the keys.

I don't think it affects my typing speed or in any functional way but I do stop sometimes after I hit the space bar and think, why does it sound like that?  Why doesn't sound and feel similar to wsad or any of the other smaller keys?  Note that I only started asking this after getting my Filco Red and reading Chobo's posts.  Ignorance is bliss.

I prefer the keycaps on the Leopold than on the Filco and it does suck that the Filco keys are going to become shiny.
The way I look at it is this: I can always replace the keycaps on the Filco with the doubleshots I ordered from group 3.  What I don't know is if there's anything to modify the Leopold stabilizers.

Compared to my Das Professional S with Blues, the Leopold Tenkeyless with Blues does have stiffer stabilizers, albeit only marginally so. Therefore, yes, I feel that they are stiffer but had no one said anything I would not have noticed (it's that slight between these two keyboards of mine).

I will let you know the difference I feel between the Leo and the Filco Tenkeyless with Browns that I should receive later today.

Place an order for a Leopold? I placed one like a week ago, the website saying that it was out of stock, and received it yesterday (USPS from California to British Columbia). So, you could definitely give it a shot. ^_~
