Take an imaginary scenario in which I found a source of original Cherry Corp double shot keycaps in beige colors, 101 keys, ANSI QWERTY US layout in nearly unlimited quantities. No POS or compact 1800 bull****, full sized 101 keys (no winkeys).

How many of you would be interested in buying a set if the price was around $25 + shipping?

I need to judge a kind of rough interest before taking further steps and renting a truck :car:

Can I assume that the spacebar is very long and the caps lock have off-centered stems. Are they ABS/POM/PBT? (I assume that they are ABS, just asking to confirm)

It will fit besides Capslock, CTRL/ALT, space.
Shipping would be like 5 EUR at most.

PS: Keep in mind this is still only an interest check, and I do not know how many keys I'm looking at yet. The recycling center seems to have several thousands that will need weeding through, I do not know when I will have the time to do this yet, but its good to see enough people interested already.

Interested, beige, white, off white etc., are the best keycaps. Shine is less noticeable on Lighter colored keys compared to dark keys.

So only these ? hm .... i could probably use the black double shot keycaps i already have for those non compatible keys to make the color scheme look ok. Should be alright then.

But my concern is what about the missing 3 keys (out of a 104 us ansi layout); which keys might they be :/ other than the 2 windows keys which i don't mind.

Using the IBM Model M keyboard 101 keys as an example; i'm guessing the missing 3 are the 2 windows keys and the menu key. Should be ok then :x

Beige is fine with me. If you do find some other colors let me know as well :}

It will be a while until anything comes in. So far it looks like there are at least 500 sets available, but in reality I will never be able to pop off keys of 500 keyboards and then sort it all out.

I just wanted to check how many people want a set too, so I could roughly estimate how much this will cost in terms of money and time.

So in a month or so we will see how many sets will be available for sale.

That is why I wrote in the first post "take an imaginary scenario...". I don't want anyone disappointed if the deal never goes through due to the stock being recycled before I decide, or something else.

I had previously lost a stock of 30+ Model Ms due to waiting too long and they all were shredded. So I'm not making that mistake with a pre-sale again, until I actually have everything here in my hands.

You could just send people the whole keyboard. It would cost more to ship, but the time savings on your part would be considerable compared to pulling 50,500 keys. Besides, maybe people want the keyboard too.
