Topre Tenkeyless (all 55g).
« on: Tue, 21 December 2010, 20:57:16 »
I guess curiosity is going to get the better of me and I'm going to end up buying a topre board. However elitekeyboards seemed to have foiled me as they are no longer selling the 55g (all keys) tenkeyless and Keyboardco.com (only UK reseller) has never stocked them to my knowledge.

I'm only assuming this would take my pursuit abroad. I've checked pchome.tw as I had a good experience with my last order, but they do not seem to stock topre. Armygroup is a company I know nothing about and they seem to stock Topre boards, but I can't quite tell if one they sell is all 55g switches.

http://www.armygroup.com.tw/shop/goods.php?id=3607

If this is what I'm looking for? and do armygroup have a good deal on shipping abroad in the same way pchome do, or am I going to have to pay a lot more for shipping to the UK (hopefully I can mark it as a gift to avoid customs).

Alternatively is there another place I should be looking at?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Quote from: ArmyGroup (translation by google)
General keyboard input need to 50g to 60g of the efforts to put the RealForce 103 keyboard with the index finger and finger strength of the end of the Enter key 30g, the other key was 45g, so that the input resistance to reduce the time to type, handle also substantially enhanced, in order to reduce the "ESC" key mistake in the circumstances, retaining only the needs of this key 55g.
I can see why this has you scratching your head. Just the fact that five different weights are mentioned has me erring towards it being a variable weight keyboard but I'm not so sure that I'd bet on it. :ohwell:

Armygroup shipping is more expensive than PChome's. I believe they charge the actual cost of shipping which is something between $40 and $60.

What is the technical name for the board I am looking for i.e. all 55g. I seem to see people referring to the same board, but one being all 55g and others being variable weight. I saw a "Topre Realforce 87UB (all 55g)" advertised in the classifieds but unfortunately it's already been sold T_T is this the correct name?

Also with the 86/87 keys what key is missing :D? I ideally want the same layout as my filco tenkeyless (US).

One of the models you could look up is SE1800.

Those 87U All 55g are very rare, I think. That's one of the reasons sixty's 87U was sold in less than 2 hours.

@Jalal, I'm only interested in the tenkeyless version.

@Ripster - Are you agreeing the SE1800 is the all 55g version?

I've asked them and they said no. They can't even special order it.

Are you looking to buy one as well? Surely there must be some webshops in Japan to order one from?

I posted links in the Worldwide Buying Guide Wiki.  But be prepared to find out that they are out of stock.  I think Topre wasn't kidding when they said it would be a limited run.

I'm guessing you meant this one?

Yeh it is out of stock. Due to the fact it was a "limited" time run I assume they won't be restocking them either :(

I would be alright with the 45g version as well as long as all keys are the same weight, I'm not too fussed but I can't seem to find any sellers which ship to the UK. Also not fussed between a 86/87u if the only difference is the windows key, is that in fact the difference between 86/87u?

There was some numpad emulation difference - the 86u didn't had it? Just check around GH.

Anyway, I was ready to try Realforce 86/87 with uniform weight, just to satisfy my own curiosity. But I couldn't find it anywhere, so I simply removed it from the wish list. Easy.

And now that I see how they're going with pretty colors and weird dials, I am somehow reassured my decision was right.

Good luck in your hunt.
