Nanodots - Buckyballs magnetic balls rock!
« on: Sat, 25 December 2010, 09:45:24 »
I received some Nanodots for Christmas and can say that I will probably spend each waking hour of the rest of my life playing with these things.

Googling around indicates Nanodots are the best, followed closely by Buckyballs, then the others are close behind but who knows what the truth is.  They could all come from the same factory in China.  I do know the neocube magnets are smaller and thus incompatible with the others if you want perfect symmetry.  I was tempted to go with another brand so I could get more for the same price but started with the Nanos in regular and black finish for now.

I've only tried nanodots so I can't compare and I'm sure any of them are a load of fun.

I think the Neocubes are only 4mm now.  That superball is hot!  Definitely going on my shelf.  That 50pc looks good as well.

Is that a large ball bearing or is it also a magnet?

yea i usually fiddle with mine when i'm "stuck" or got a "brain fart" then i stick it under my keyboard holder (it's made out of metal). I found out, if you really tried, you could have a bracelet that holds really tight, put like 2/3 strands and it's a good bracelet like those goth kids wear i guess.

some of your balls don't look so uniform, time to take a caliper to some.
