Cherry keyboard doubleshot nkro
« on: Sat, 01 January 2011, 00:49:27 »
I'm selling off my spare monitor to fund this :p

Looking for a Cherry keyboard that has

- double shot keys
- nkro via usb to ps2 adapter
- preferably is usb

Here a bunch i've identified from the forum.

Cherry G80-1863 HUMUS-2

has usb port and is NKRO although it doesn't have the N in it's code :/

It's using the old look :/

G80-1865HUMUS-2 (Cherry Brown, DoubleShot)

G80-1865HWNEU-2
Same colour and layout but with Cherry Blues.

Cherry G80-3484 HKCUS

doubleshot also has usb port. Wiki says it has nkro :X

Using the more modern look :pray2:

G80-1863 wNv (Cherry Brown, DoubleShot)

Special edition, nkro, doubleshot, usb port.

Grey casing :/ hm ew.

Anyways i am specifically interested in the Cherry G80-3484 HKCUS since it has the more modern look. Is there any reviews of it yet ?

H(igh-quality?) = double shot

K: Apparently indicates MX brown switches, presumably with DIN plug

C: 104/105-key, USB / PS/2 combo board

US = US layout

Also does it have a DIN plug ? What is that :/

N where can i buy it :/

din is the big at 5 pin before ps2
imo i think the cherry boards i've purchased g80 8200 are pretty shoddy quality in terms of the housing, the plastic is laughable and is worse than a child's toy.

do you just buy it to use or just to get the Double shot cap?
FYI: you can order the double shot cap itself if you want.

@Lanx

:/ hm i guess. But i mean what else is there that has nice doubleshots like the Cherry kbs; has nkro but with a better housing :/

@fssbzz

Your right. I already got the GH set; but i wanna try get something that natively already has it. These SP ones are kinda thin :x

A bit off topic; but I'm also considering the Topre; but i'm not sure about the differences between the models. Like why is the Realforce 103U-UW cheaper than the 103 etc :/

The 6kro should be fine; since i'll use the Ducky for serious gaming; and another keyboard just for some fun typing :}

Anyway bottom line; i'm looking for either a realforce or just another cherry mx keyboard but with native doubleshots.

What about the dip switches.

I noticed the 10keyless models have it and the full key ones don't.

The dip switch can use to toggle on or off the window key. Can the UW do something like that ?
