disappointed in ducky keycaps
« on: Sun, 09 January 2011, 19:57:38 »
Well, I've been using the printed version of ducky keycaps (from ebay) for no more than a week. The prints are already starting to fade. I've gamed a lot in the past week but still one week??

Be warned, if you're looking for PBT key caps, make sure you get the non-printed version. I'm switching back to double shot key caps. :(

Um, I just saw a big mob of Ducky fans out on the street with pitchforks and torches.  You better high-tail it outta here.

Seriously, your experience does not surprise me.  I went to the nearby computer city and tested out several Duckys, Noppoo's, Cherrys, Filco's, and PLU's, and the Duckys were the most disappointing of the bunch - quality seemed on par with the other cheaper brands.

Sorry to hear about that.
I'm back.

I don't care if the ducky fanatics start a flame war. Fact is fact. I never was a big fan of printed caps anyways but I didn't think it would be this bad.

lmnop thought Duckys were gonna be great.

I, however, have always been skeptical.

You remain skeptical on everything so that does not count ;p

Where did lmnop go anyway, just vanished like the steven spielberg game lmno

I have a Noppoo incoming with POM plastic, curious to find out how it holds up.  Its supposed to be one of the most durable but im not sure if that means it does not shine.

That is the fate of all girls around here. They all vanish over night. Chloe? Gone. Imnop? Gone. Morning Song? Gone.

Good bye bakageta in advance. Poof!

Then again, can't blame em.

If it was not 8 am and I had a giant pile of work to do, I would edit that gif to a pile of keyboards. Now THAT would be awesome.

ripster, i don't know if it was this thread but you mentioned tortex picks somewhere. i don't think tortex are pom. why does dunlop have more expensive delrin(pom) picks then? anyways i like the celluloid ones.

lego's are darn sturdy in my memory now that i know they are abs! heck, some very high wear industrial machines shroud is abs.
btw, is there a retail store where i could get a really great lego set and which one do you recommend? sorry for off topic :)

thanks

ok, i am wrong sorry. that is weird then that the dunlop delrin picks are more money than the tortex. i know delrin is a brand name for pom.

which gets me wondering if i should be looking for the pom lasered keys instead of the (pbt i think) double shots i used on my das. it takes me a very long time to wear out lasered keys. keys of all types go shiny on me though.
the way das lasers theirs with an "overfill" wears down quickly for me. however, the fill in the groove will last at a much lower contrast for a long time. anywhow, lasered cherrys are better i am guessing.

at the end of the day they all go shiny. i am not going to cry over it.
i am thinking of trying otaku. i always liked legends but i certainly don't require them.

I am sorry to hear that you are disappointed in our key caps, however, I am confused on the key cap fading part, as they do not fade because they are laser engraved. If you could please give me your Ebay information, I could look that up for you, and if it is truly faded, then I will give a full refund.

I placed an order too... its been over a week and haven't got any shipping/tracking confirmation from you guys.
