I just saw someone selling this keyboard. Anybody know about this particular model ? It's supposedly some modded keyboard.

I think that a lot has been written about it already. Just search for the model no.

Only the red Left Ctrl is non-standard.

That's the Cherry variant of Chicony's KB-5181. There were about 4..5 or so (2 different ALPS, Futaba, Cherry blue, Monterey), approximately one switch type per year. The ones with Montereys were made last and for the longest time, so those are the most common.

I think the earlier ones have dye sub lettering, late ones come with "decals" (coated printing).

The 102-key version was called KB-5182, I have one with Futabas. Closely related boards with different cases include KB-516x and KB-520x.

Hardware in signatures clutters Google search results. There should be a field in the profile for that (again).

This message was probably typed on a vintage G80-3000 with blues. Double-shots, baby. :D

Thx keyb_gr

Just wondered because the only other keyboard i knew with that look was the ibm model M and g80-1000 series. But didn't know there were others heh.

Is the one i listed dye subbed ? honestly i can't tell :X

Since the lettering appears flush with the key surface (look at A, for example), I'd guess it's dye sub here.

I can't tell from the photo whether the keycaps have as sharp edges as the ones on my Futaba-equipped sample. I put a spare set of Cherry doubleshots to good use here.

But even if it's a dye sub, it's a shame one of the keys is missing.

You could possibly replace them with sixty's doubleshots, but then no dye subbed keys :{
