CHERRY G80-3000 (3464HKMGB) double shots ?

I want to harvest the control, alt, windows and menu key for my Ducky.

I just need to know whether all of these keys are double shots ?


In the anti otaku thread, someone mentioned a different cherry board that kinda have the same look, the windows keys was not double shot. This is why i want to double check on GH first.

I'm using these as temporary until we get the group buy one.

I could also trade these for a beige double shot later if the opportunity arises.


Anyway i found a seller willing to sell me only just the alt, control, windows, menu keys from this keyboard.

Windows and Menu key are not double shot. Double shot variants of those do not exist. Cherry was not fond of using double shot on pictographs and always reversed to their alternative pad printing + heat shield method as with the LED window keys.

Crap... i was afraid of that because someone mentioned it in the anti otaku thread. but the model they were referring to was a POS. So i guess it applies to the other keyboards as well damn :[

I guess i will pass on these black keys then. They weren't really what i wanted anyway, just desperate :p



By the way sixty, does that apply as well to the white/beige cherry keyboard for these keys ? Specifically the G80-3000H*MGB model keyboards.

Yes same deal. As I said, Cherry never made any "non lettered" key in double shot. Everything with an icon or pictograph on it was pad printed + heat shield. That method is enough though. I have a 15 year old G80-3000HAMDE that has seen heavy use. The windows and menu keys still look brand new. Also the way Cherry made them, they match perfectly with the other double shot keys in terms of color and contrast. So it really does not matter.

Problem is rip,

i am only using the bottom row from white rice's kit with Sixty's full set.

Also it's not matching color, and besides i want to wean off White Rice's kit so i can use it for another keyboard.

I wouldn't mind if only the windows and menu keys are not doubleshot. Does anyone know if these keys are available in white/gray?

I'm ok if a couple aren't DS too. It ocurred to me that the problem with a Signature Plastics "patch kit" is the key profile (especially that space bar). It seems like these would be a closer match (albeit an expensive one).

7bit said they made the spacebar better than white rice's which had a steep recline. So should be fine regarding the spacebar.

Should be. Those are pretty cheap too o.o. I would avoid used double shots though, abs gets shiny. You can always use the "sort by" drop down menu to find the cheapest keyboard you can get...

You can search for g80-8200s too, I got one this morning for $80 shipped, missed one last week... NIB too. The stems of the keys on the bottom row and the caps lock are centered.

Oh that's good news, that was definitely my biggest complaint about the whiterice set.
