This is just heaven.

I have a new FILCO FKBN105MC/UKB

I've only had it for a few hours but I know already that this is the best keyboard I have ever used. Typing on it feels totally natural.

I used to mainly used model M's or Customizers but I wanted something to play games on but stil be something good to type on.

I tried the Cherry G80-3000 but it felt cheap and tacky. I just didn't like it. Thing is after initially not liking the blues I got so used to them that my customizer felt too clacky!

So I triad a BlackWidow. Big mistake. Well made but I found it nearly impossible to type on because of the key shape and the font. So that went back.

So I gave in and spent the dosh and bought the FILCO. I should have just taken notice of what I'd read on these forums and forked out in the first place. I just love it. My hands seem to have a symbiotic relationship with it.

The same switches in different keyboards really do feel different in actual use.

Cheers guys. Without this forum I wouldn't be this pleased.

I will Post a review at a later date when I have some time.

Congrats on the new Filco.

I had the same situation as you. i got a black widow and i hated it. cheap feeling, tacky looking, and horrible keys. i spent $190+ just to get a Filco over seas.

MUCH MUCH better keyboard and a good investment, its going to last years. :D

A decent keyboard can make a massive difference in work and play.

I just played my first game of COD4 on this Filco and kicked ass. No problems.

This was definitely worth the money. Mine cost about £115 from the keyboard company  http://www.keyboardco.com/
This may seem expensive $181(us)  but in my opinion it is worth every penny.

I just wish I'd tried this ages ago. I didn't know a keyboard could feel so nice to type on.

I'm married. She won't let me have more than one keyboard at once unless I can justify it such as a gaming and a work keyboard.

Apart from that I have always said to her that collecting things is an indicator of an underlying mental illness. Now I think collecting keyboards is different because we need them...

The g80-3000 although a good keyboard just didn't do it for me. The lightness of the board make the keys feel insubstantial to me. Also the keys are quite shallow. I prefer a deeper key.

The Blackwidow was all wrong. The keys were spaced and shaped in a way that made it hard for me to type. Also the font is so horrible that I had problems recognising the letters quickly.

The Filco keys are slightly taller. They also have a really nice deep trough and nice sharply defined edges. All this makes them really easy to hit without hitting another key at the same time. And because of the solid construction the sound is very satisfying. Especially if like me you always bottom out the keys.

Typing on a Model M is second to none. ( On par with my Filco ) but I found that for playing FPS games they don't perform.

I'll try it, if my Filco will arrive (ordered a Tenkeyless with Blues two weeks ago). Personally i really like those 80s Sci Fi Fonts, and sometimes i wish, my IBM had one :). But yeah, i understand, what you mean, a normal font is just more readable. For myself i could type without lettering.
