Ducky or Filco?
« on: Sat, 29 January 2011, 00:37:52 »
Hey guys I was interested in either a Ducky 1087 or a Filco Tenkeyless.

Which one would be a better choice?

I heard the 1087 had issues with being able to see the PCB and the rubber feet were wobbly, has that been fixed?

The wobbly feet on the Ducky will get stable after a few hours of use, at least that's what happened with mine. The only CQ problem I can confirm with mine is that the plastic above the detachable cable is a bit loose, otherwise the keyboard is perfect.

Overall, If you need detachable cable, lockable windows keys and other features the Ducky offers, go with Ducky. If you prefer better quality keyboard overall, go with Filco.

Also the Ducky 1087 seems to be discontinued, so if you decide to go for that, you might be in a hurry before they all run out.

Leopold or Archiss tenkeyless.  You get the better build quality, plus niceties like the removable USB cable.

No one wants to wait for EK.  All you people that keep saying that need to be realistic :P Everyone wants their keyboards now!

+1

& spend the little extra to get the filco, you won't be disappointed.
I had a Ducky 1087, it had its few minor faults which didn't really bother me.
The quality of it was definitely behind the filco tenkeyless.
You could wait for the so-called 1087 version 2 but then again you would be waiting.

Thanks for the input everyone.

If I went for the Filco is there a way to get a version with blank keys, or even buy them seperately?

Does the Ducky have any issues with ghosting or anything like that?

Always a big fan of getting drunk and having people video tape it.

Thanks for the info.
