Disable Num Lock Layer on a keyboard?
« on: Sat, 29 January 2011, 21:23:40 »
I've been playing an MMORPG called rift lately, with it, i use my razer naga, which has a numpad on its side.  I bind keys to the numpad which i can activate with the naga.  Numlock needs to be on for it to send the right scancodes so it activates the abilities i have bound to it.  Trouble is my choc mini...which still has not arrived...has a numlock layer built into the letter keys when numlock is on.  So i wont be able to type normally with numlock on, but i need num lock on so my naga works fine.

I think i can rebind my naga keys to something else to prevent this, but it helps to have the numbers of numlock on the hotkeys of the ability to remember which key goes to what.

So is there any way to disable a keyboards numlock layer, while still having numlock on?

I use the number row keys also.

I think i may have found a way around it however.  The latest drivers allow you to bind anything to those buttons including modifiers.  So i can change them all to shift + numpad # and then bind those hotbars in game to shift+numpad #.  I should still retain the number on the hotkey.
