deck keyboard spacebar problem

is this common, and or can it be fixed? thought about removing the spacebar to see what the problem is but dont know if its removed the same way as a regular key or if the spacebar is built different? also didnt know if it was common.

I'm far from an expert, but on my Deck, there's a bit of play on the spacebar - it doesn't look like it's quite as pronounced as in that video, but I can get a little wiggle out of it if I try.  It doesn't seem to be so drastic from side to side either.

just used a flat head screw driver on each end of the space bar, popped one side while holding it up i pupped the other and it came off, then just put it back on and now its perfect, left side is a bit firmer then it was and now right is same as left side instead of the loose side + firm side. wonder what deck did wrong, its been like that since i received it last month.

Glad you fixed it!  Sounds like whoever assembled the board just didn't seat the key properly, or maybe there was a tiny burr of plastic in one of the key mounts that was rubbed off by reseating the key.  I've had that happen before with other Cherry keys.

Is your Deck a tactile or linear version?  Other than this problem, how do you like it so far?  I've been thinking out picking up a tactile one to try out the Cherry clear switches.  I like Blues, but they're a bit loud for me to be using at work, and Browns are just too light for my tastes.

i have a linear, this is my first mechanical, coming from a g15 i really love typing on blacks. i heard there was no enjoyment in typing on blacks before i bought but still wanted to try and love it.

As far as I know this is pretty common with cherry stabilizers. I had this problem with nearly all the stabilized keys.

This weekend I learned how the f*** Cherry stabilizers work...and my life will never be the same.

Blame it on sloppy assembly then. I can't remember seeing this on any of my Cherry G80 boards. In general putting on keycaps with this stabilizer arrangement is dead easy.

Yeah, but even then they are still rattly. I have found out that the metal part is too lose in the stabilizer and creates vibration in the keycaps.
