eww card reader. But then again people will get the board for the keys seeing as how it's a G81 cherry my :X

Kinda pricey just for the dye subbed keys. The 10-20 usd ebays for SAU 101 key boards were a better bargain :}

Actually this is still cheap for sublimation keys. The NCR boards just happened to be a steal. 95% of the US sublimation keys I have seen on eBay, end well above $100-150. This one happens to be on the front page of OTD, and some people already announced they will try their best to score this one.

I am expecting to see $150+ this time.

Maybe your right, but i bought mine to use them, not for resale :}

Vintage Cherry corp dye subs don't grow on trees.

PS: whoever gets it, please consider getting a Moogle White kit to patch it up for a more modern keyboard :}

PS: so far i've only seen 101 dye subs. Is there a 104 dye sub SAU cherry keyboard o.O: ?

Current bid already at $220 - Well above sixty's $150+ prediction. Will be interesting to see the final bid on this one.

If this goes for over 300.. and since there's a few days left on the bid it looks like it's possible, then indeed this is ludicrous. I was expecting sub 200.

thick dye sub key caps are considered the best key caps by many keyboard enthusiasts. They're extremely hard to come by and this is a NIB. But still I wasn't expecting this to go for 200+. Most likely that everyone who's bidding on this is because they want the key caps.

Current bid is 355$. This is just ridiculous.
Maybe it is the time to make cherry profile thick costum molds and start pumping pbt keycaps. I think in Hungary it can be done for about five grand.

It's amazing that Cherry is so blind to a market that should be very easy to dominate.  They have the equipment, all they have to do is start pumping out keycaps and profit.  Sell sets at, say, $50 a pop and bam, instant cash.

Whats different between this and the NCR G81-3077SAU I bought last week that makes it worth so much more? Other than the cherry logo and card reader that is. The keys look the same to me.

The difference is that the seller had no idea what he had and listed it as normal replacement equipment for a low price. The second difference is that Korea did not see the auctions for the NCR boards.

360USD on the auction. That is crazy. You could friggin buy a Topre keyboard that already had dye sub keys, and nice capacitive switches too.

@Peter

Nice find.

this is officially no longer a good find. I think this thread should be removed. I strongly advise to anyone:

DO NOT BID ON THIS

Here's why: if you look at the bidding history you'll notice something foul going on. It's quite obvious that someone (a seller judging by his feedback and probably someone affiliated with the seller of the item) is just upping the bids by himself.

Is shill bidding like ....

someone bids a ridiculous price to disuade others from bidding. In the end that person doesn't pay, so it goes to the 2nd runner up who paid a small price (who was a partner to the highest bidder) ??

It is buying services. Just like on most of the NIB minis that sell every month from that one seller and always again raise the suspicion of being fake bids, they are indeed Asian buying agencies.
