KBC can put me down for one, or two depending.  I was looking for a WASD 2nd layer arrow keys.  Thought I would have to use Auto for it.

Don't forget the fat Europeans.

I don't think this keyboard would have much demand amongst normal sized people.

I've also decided to wait to make this my first mechanical board.
I have very shaky hands making soldering impossible, so if I don't like the switches I get I can always buy new switches for much cheaper than a new board. That plus the small size equals a win I think.

I was just browsing through imsto's taobao shop, and found this at the top of the list:

KBC 40 Poker full keyboard to change the red axis Services (This is what google translated)

Any idea what that is?  Do they change your existing Poker switches to reds?

In related news, we have been told the OEM information today. The keyboard will be available in red switches too from the looks of it. The price is still not final, but they are aiming for $100~110 for the foreign (read American) market.

Also the docs mention a heavier (600g) version with a steel plate. Whether or not that will be available with the normal version on launch, I have not been told yet.

isn't it just 499 RMB? (about 80 USD), where did the 100~110 number come from?

Also the KBC people said the retail version will come with PBT keycaps just like these first runs, you might want to edit that in your review sixty.

Also looking at the latest pics, it seems like they have already taken heart of one of the points i mentioned in my review. The new version that imsto posted a pic of seems to have LED indicators in the keycaps for the arrow mode. :alien:

The board is really easy to mod (assuming you know how to solder). That mod took maybe 20 minutes or something. The PCB is very neatly labelled and there are actually LED holes in the PCB for every single switch. A full backlit mod might be possible with some more hacking.
