Cherry keypad ?
« on: Wed, 23 February 2011, 08:30:43 »
I'm looking for a keypad.
Ideally it would have MX browns, but I guess I can always try to swap some other MX to browns.
I would also prefer a long-sized 0 key.

From my searching I found the Kinesis AC210, that ripster reviewed.
It's pretty much what I need, but all those damn US stores keep shipping within their borders.

Anybody knows a way to get them in Europe (couldn't find anything on eBay UK, for instance) ?
What would be a good pick, besides the Kinesis ?

G80-3700? They come with blacks unless special ordered, but with PCB mounted switches that's no big hurdle.
Hardware in signatures clutters Google search results. There should be a field in the profile for that (again).

This message was probably typed on a vintage G80-3000 with blues. Double-shots, baby. :D

Goldtouch gtc-0077, comes with MX Brown switches, works as a USB hub too. It's not too expensive, and it should be pretty widely available, even in the UK.
Cherry MX Blue: Filco Majestouch Tenkeyless. Cherry MX Black: TG3 KBA-BLTD-5RBUVS (Police Cruiser keyboard). Cherry MX Clear: KBC Poker (modded with Ergo Clears) Cherry MX Brown: Goldtouch GTC-077 USB numpad. Buckling Spring: IBM Model M 1391401 (1989-01-03 and 1991-11-21).

Thanks for the answers !

Now allow me to nitpick
The Goldtouch and Filco have those 0/00 keys, so they're out for me
The G80-3700 seems OK, though it does cost a kidney, and I've only seen it in grey so far (black would be awesome).

Sooo, no Kinesis AC210 over Europe ?

It's for a "regular" tenkeyless, so that shouldn't be an issue.

After getting confirmation that they would ship it to Europe, I bought a couple AC210 from DSI \o/
