Hey guys, I'm new to this forum, so go easy on me :) Anyways, I posted this on teamliquid, and was told that if I was really curious about this keyboard that I should come to the geekhack forums, because they're the best :) So this is pretty much a copy paste of my TL post, with additional pictures:

I am currently building a new computer, so I was rummaging around in my basement looking for some mice and keyboards that I could salvage from computers long gone - Save a few bucks on peripherals, ya know?

Well anyways I came upon a keyboard that I can't figure out. I know very little about mechanical keyboards, but I think that this is one. It is a very old keyboard, perhaps from our first family computer oh so long ago. Anyways, this thing doesn't even have a ps/2 connector. I was wondering if any of the knowledgeable people here on geekhack can give me some info on this thing:

Might be a plunger over a sheet of rubber domes.   Are you able to take it apart further?  In any case there might be a few more clues inside.

Nice keycaps. I've seen that stem somewhere before, but I can't seem to recall where.

If you look up the FCC ID though, it's a Sejin Electronics keyboard. Didn't they have a mechanical switch they used?

I'm not sure if I can open it, as you can see in the picture there are these little latch-like (for lack of a better word) things up at the top of the keyboard. As far as I can tell, the top and bottom halves of the keyboard are not screwed in together, but I'm not sure if it's meant to be opened, or if after I open it I won't be able to close it again.



If it's safe to open, just tell me and I will try to open it

Rebranded Sejin keyboard. Probably EAT-200 or something. Futaba switches.

If its like my old Key Tronic 3601, a screwdriver in each slot will pop it open and it will snap back together no problem.

Definitely Futaba switches.

It has a DIN connector, so it has either XT or AT signals. AT is more probable. AT is signal-compatible with PS/2 so you will need only a simple, inexpensive DIN-PS/2 adapter and it should work perfectly.

If it's Futabas, and they really feel like clicky white ALPS, I would definitely keep it, were I you. I know it's not the common opinion, but I'm a big fan of the ALPS, especially the clicky white variety. Think Apple Extended Keyboard, if you ever used one of those.

Futabas have a lot more in common with BS, if lighter and kinda upside down in tactility (more tactile and noisier on upstroke). Funny little mid-force switch, a bit noisy but not bad at all.

Hardware in signatures clutters Google search results. There should be a field in the profile for that (again).

This message was probably typed on a vintage G80-3000 with blues. Double-shots, baby. :D

One of these was on eBay, and I couldn't find any references to "Microspeed" (the brand on the board) or "KB101" (the model number), here on GH or anywhere else.

Eventually I found this page by looking up the FCC number, then searching GH for "Sejin"—but it shouldn't be that hard.

I don't know why neither the OP nor the repliers mentioned the brand 'n' model actually on the board. However, I'm sticking my neck out (see below) and adding "Microspeed KB101" here so it'll turn up in GH's search results, should anyone look for info on this board in the future.

This concludes this necro-ism.
