I the Clear switches in my Cherry POS keyboard, but they layout is horrible, and it's HUGE. I'm not too eager to break out the soldering iron to transplant them into my Filco, but I'd be willing to move them into a decent board with PCB-mounted Cherry switches. Anyone have any recommendations?

Oh yeah, hadn't even considered that. I'll probably end up selling my Noppoo to fund this purchase.

I liked that it was even smaller than my Filco, but not enough to keep it as a secondary keyboard. Still a decent board though.

Leopolds are plate mounted though, so he's going to have trouble doing a switch swap with clears. Unless of course someone can depress a Leopold.

This. Other than layout differences (the main draw for me), there really isn't much different about any of these 'boards. More than likely, Filco = Ducky = Leopold. The only difference is a feature here and there (better caps, detachable cable, etc.). In the end, they all feel the same.

EDIT: Oh, and don't forget the "iMav Special" that he alluded to a week or two ago as well.

Exactly. I like the Ducky for the shortcut keys and the Noppoo for the size. Otherwise, they feel the same. Unless the keycaps are magical on the Leopold, the more I think about it, the more I might skip it. After I got to thinking about the differences between the Ducky and the Leopold, the feature set of the Ducky wins. Same detachable cable. Same stabilizers. Same plate-mounting. Leopold might have better legending on their caps, but Ducky has the shorcut keys and no Unicomp sticker for the Lock Lights.

Well, until I see a Filco or Leopold offered with Clears, I'm guessing the closest I'll get is installing them into the Poker. I'm not giving up my Filco though, that's for sure.

Eh, no thanks. I'll stick with one for now. Aside from the double-shot keycaps (which I'll keep) and the Clear switches, I don't see anything really valuable about this POS keyboard.

to be clear, does the noppoo use standard size key caps? i like the board, but if the caps are smaller, it is a no go.

Take a look at pictures, aside from the space bar and meta keys, yes, they're standard size, compatible with other cherry boards.

Mine's in pretty good shape, and none of the keycaps are shiny.

cheapest, simplest cherry pcb mounted boards in my opinion would be the g80-3000 and g80-1800. Very easy to get in europe, not too hard in the us either.
