Just in case someone would like to know this.  It's a quote from an email I got from Cherry when I inquired on current available switches on state-side.

"Currently we only offer the G80-11900 series keyboard which uses our
black MX switch.

At the end of April we will begin offering the following keyboards.

G80-3000LSCEU-2 Black, USB, with blue MX switches
G80-1865LXNEU-2 Black, USB, with brown MX switches and 2 port USB hub

He might be mistaken.  I don't know.  I just know that he said he'd email me when they actually were available and also recommended going through CDW when that happens.

I'll email him back w/this "error".  He might have sneezed when he was looking up the info.  He may have been emailing me from Germany...It looks like it from his sig.

Other GHers have emailed Cherry before and gotten similar responses. Who knows what will or won't happen, really.

EU is US layout, with an Euro symbol on the 5% key... no physical different...

I need an I with an Umlaut.  How can I talk about naivete in Zaire appropriately without it?

It amazes me that you still see so many US-with-no-Euro-symbol layout boards new-- you'd think it's one less SKU to stock if they only make one ANSI version.

I'm assuming he was referring to the existing model numbers, since the new designations with the US friendly tag at the end don't actually EXIST yet :D

It would be like a representative from Volkswagen talking about the release of the Golf VII in the US, even though here in the states it might be referred to as the Golf or the Rabbit, depending on how VW of America decided to market it.  Just a thought ;)

1865 in the US? This is good news.
And w/ CDW the price should be pretty low.
A nice PCB mounted Cherry-made 'board is the perfect complement to a higher-end Leopold or Filco.
