Is It Possible to Mod Media Keys into a Das?
« on: Fri, 15 April 2011, 19:12:49 »
So, after much research and a few questions, I have decided to order a Das keyboard over the weekend. Now, I know I'm going to miss my media keys that I have on my current keyboard.
I'll live without them if I have to, but if it's possible to somehow mod a few buttons into the Das I'd like to give it a try. Is this feasible without replacing any of the electronics in the Das?

A second option would be to assemble an external pad that plugs into one of the Das USB ports using the circuitry from my old (current) keyboard.

Keys that I'd like to have are play/pause, previous track, current track, volume and mute keys.

Any thoughts or criticism is welcome!

I have one of the discontinued versions with the media keys. The Fn key replaces the left windows key though. Time to pull that keyboard out....
