Just got my HHKB pro 2 white, but defective

I just received my HHKB pro 2 white, love the typing feeling,
but as soon as I took out the keyboard from the box, I noticed many of the keys
are tilted to the left and right. SDFGWEC, are definitely not straightened up.
And NCMNH are not trimmed correctly, can see white things sticking out on the top...
And T, O just stick out to the top, as if they are tumors.
I tried to tilt them back, so I took out the key caps.
Guest what, I see scratches
and black thick dust on the bottom. (they are not white dust clearly)
Maybe they sent me used one or defective one, but this was so disappointing.. :(

,./ left alt key, Fn key are also not trimmed correctly.
and biggest of all.... "," key has its top part bitten off.. as if someone hammered with...

Just requested EMA to elitekeyboards...
Love the keyboard typing feeling, and layout, but so disappointed that
I got this kind of product after I even ordered with 2nd day shipping waiting from Friday... :(
Can't believe I gotta wait again..

Did anybody have any issues with tilting or build quality with HHKB?
similar problem as mine?

I will post the pictures as soon as I can..
and if possible, please post your white HHKB pictures also, so I can compare with
perfect product.,

from other forums too, I think I am the first one who received HHKB in poor condition.
I don't think the damage got during the shipping but from the factory.
My keyboard seems okay from the distance, but when from a meter,
you can definitely see what is wrong. It just happens I guess, No luck...
My friend got Leopold 200, and his keys were tilted heavily as well, so he requested for an exchange...
AHHHH!!!

I thought that EK checks the boards before he sends them?  Maybe something happened when they were being shipped to you, fed-ex and UPS are pretty bad when it comes to handling delicate electroniccs.

The tilting is normal due to the design of the Topre keyswitch.

As for the little nubbins, it's always there as it's part of the process that produces the keycaps.

I demand for pictures!

Ripster can you explain what I'm looking at in this picture?

At OP, i'm planning to purchase a HHKP on amazon next week (lots of amz giftcards) so I'd like to understand what is occurring here.
I have the HH light, and am purchasing the HHKP as my first mechanical simply because I love the layout with vi.

I took the pictures with my phone. Because of the quality of the camera, it doesn't look bad, but in real, they are really tilted.
Also, "," key, in the picture you cannot really see it, but if you look closely to the top of the key, there big hole chopped off, like somebody took a bite.
I cannot take out the key anymore cause mine broke :(
But believe me... this needs EMA ASAP...

This pictures are taken from my phone.
They don't show much in the picture.
But in real... they are quite a mass...
especially WERTOG... T just stick out right when you look at the keyboard.
other keys are tilted too but I said the worst ones.
"," key looked liked that so I took it out, and that's how it was.
Looks like someone took a bite.
That's the only key I removed, but I believe some other keys are damaged too.
EK does exchange for a product quite easily right?
I mean, he sent a reply back to me, asking for pictures and can't believe it expression...

Heavily tilted? Clearly you never met a Razer BW b4.

I have a Razer BW and i too notice the tilted stuff, but you won't notice it when your typing on it. And the backlight masks it a bit too.

It generally looks ok.

Here's another thing - maybe try taking pictures once the sun comes out?
Makes it much more easier on your phone camera too - and given modern technology, a high resolution picture taken under the sun should reveal much more then an indoor picture.

Might make the exchange process easier with EK too.

Can't make anything out of the 1st pic other than the fact that it looks alright to me!

The HHKBs (and perhaps RFs) seem to suffer from tilted keycaps, which is more visible on white keyboards. The chewed keycap is not okay though, so you should seek a replacement.

Looks ok to me.
Keycaps on topre keyboards have those sprue marks on the back, my 86U has them too.
That "," key has the sprue mark cut off a little more than the others. Don't know how you came to the conclusion that it was bitten off.
I thought the whole key was mangled by a rabid dog the way you described it.

It looks fine from the pictures. Maybe try taking photos from a different angle, from just above the plane of the keyboard so we can see what your problem is.
You could ask for an extra < keycap to be mailed to you... if the board was mine, I wouldn't bother with it.

Did you ever get your replacement and was the replacement better quality?  For the price of this keyboard I would expect first rate quality and would accept no less.
