blue or brown switches?

Iv been looking at all of the threads for gaming switches and most say to use brown.  Blue sounds more appealing, with the sound and feel, but if brown is what people say is good for gaming, should I just buy browns?  I really cannot decide, is the double taping really that bad?.  I do a good amount of typing and gaming.  It feels like my brain is going mushy trying to decide.

Browns are probably your best bet.

The mod is pretty easy (no soldering involved) on non backlit PCB mounted keyboards, like the cherry, the kbc poker, the nooppo choock and so on.

Is harder on plate mounted ones, is hardest in my case where the switches are both plate mounted and with a led in every key.

what would you say from brown/blue?

I just went through the same exact predicament. And people were exactly right - it just comes down to personal preference.

Here's my take:

1. The blues are better for typing, but not as good for gaming. This is because the blues release point is slight above the actuation point - basically the key is triggered to go back up before the key press has been registered. On browns the actuation point is right at the release point. This generally makes double tapping easier on browns.  

2. The clickiness of the blues was music to my ears, at first. After a while it started to drive me insane. It sounded ok at high typing speeds - what really bothered me was the fact that there was literally no way to be quiet with the keyboard. A single key press was what annoyed me the most.

Essentially the two most important factors you need to consider:

1. What do you want to have a slight advantage at: Typing or Gaming?

2. Is sound a factor?

If you are still unsure, buy two Das keyboards, one with Browns and one with Blues and then just return the on you don't want - you'll have 30 days from the date of purchase to decide. All you have to pay is return shipping on one of the keyboards. And Das really does make a solid keyboard. It was the one I had before I switched to Browns. The only questionable thing on the Das is the lettering on the keycaps.
